VODOUN Seven-Day Tour

DAY 1 | arrival in benin.

You will be welcomed at Cotonou airport and then picked directly to your hotel where dinner will be served.

DAY 2 | porto-novo international vodoun arts and cultures festival.

1^st Stage: Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the Porto-Novo International Festival of Vodoun Arts and Cultures. This festival is an opportunity to understand the essence of Africa’s endogenous religions. Cults, masks, divinatory arts and the history of the city of Porto-Novo will be discovered.
2^nd Stage: Returning to Cotonou in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 | adjarra: the mysteries of the black river – porto – novo

1^st Stage: Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the town of Adjarra.
2^nd Stage: Site visit.
We will go aboard canoes to discover the black river and try to understand its mysteries. A stroll under the benevolent eyes of the boas who populate the surrounding swamps and pay visit to local residents without ever attacking them. Stop in the city center to discover several drum varieties.
3^rd Stage: Returning to Cotonou in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 | porto-novo international vodoun arts and cultures festival.

1^st Stage: Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a day of discovery at the festival. You will be entitled to historical and cultural courses of the Égun-Gun and Zangbétô cults from their origins to date. While you are having these lessons, you will be entitled to various demonstrations of dance, song and the power of masks.
2^nd Stage: Returning to Cotonou in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 | discovering the lakeside city of ganvié and the aguégués.

1^st Stage: Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the dock where you will have a trip to the lakeside town of Aguégués aboard canoes.
3^rd Stage: Visiting the “Venice of Africa”, the lakeside city of Ganvié.
4^th Stage: Returning to the hotel in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 | porto-novo international vodoun arts and cultures festival.

1^st Stage: Departure once again for the Porto-Novo Festival, with as plan, the consultation of the Fâ for all. This ancestral African science which gave birth to several other divinatory sciences and inspired so-called modern religions will be explained to you in all its contours.
2^nd Stage: Returning to Cotonou in the evening, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7 | vodoun festival –  (JANUARY 10)

1^st Stage: Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the town of Ouidah to attend the National Vodoun Festival Celebration. January 10 is considered the most important religious and cultural festival day in Benin.
2^nd Stage: In the evening, returning to Cotonou via the Fishing Road, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
