The Pythons Temple is a voodoo sanctuary located in the town of Ouidah, in a place where the existence of a cult of the Serpent (Dangbé) – a particular form of voodoo – has been attested since the end of the 17th century. One of the town’s major tourist attractions is its living sacred pythons.
